About Us

After 20 years of local industry experience, our founder saw the need for specialist building engineering investigations and reports for the insurance and building industries that were thorough and definitive, yet easy to understand by all parties involved. In 2011, Forme Consulting Engineers grew out of this vision.

From day one, the thoroughness and quality of Forme’s forensic investigations and reporting work shone through to our clients and was rapidly identified as being far superior to anything else before us. Word of mouth referrals quickly spread and have since ensured that we are highly regarded and remain widely sort after by the Insurance Industry.

Equally important to our thoroughness is our passion and our personalised and friendly service. Our services are often provided in times of great hardship and it is not uncommon for us to receive glowing feedback about the sensitive and compassionate manner in which we provide our services.

Our founder and principal structural engineer, Brendan Lowther, has been involved in building and engineering work since 1992. Since this time, Brendan has completed many thousands of site soil classifications and footing/slab designs, designed framing, bracing and tie down systems in non-cyclonic and cyclonic regions, documented these designs, supervised and certified their construction.

Brendan has also prepared architectural documentation for new and renovation projects, as well as designed and supervised the construction of numerous steel framed, concrete tilt panel and suspended concrete buildings up to 10 stories high over three level basements for industrial, commercial and residential applications. Brendan has also designed, documented and supervised the construction of numerous soil and water retaining structures and swimming pools.

In addition to his design, documentation and construction experience, Brendan has a keen interest in and has developed particular skills in the investigation of building damage from abnormal foundation movements. He has years of experience in the identification of and causation of foundation movement and its rectification using various methods that include soil moisture walls, deep resin injection, slabjacking and conventional underpinning.
